Dr Sally Anderson
GP Partner

'I qualified as a doctor in 1984 and worked all over the world before finally settling in Driffield.  The partnership, like the NHS, has undergone some rapid changes in the past few years but I am very pleased to announce we have now recruited a full compliment of younger GPs and nursing staff who have rejuvenated the practice again and we are soon to resume GP training.

Due to work / life balance I now work full time hours over 3 working days, enjoying the relatively new Womens Health Clinic which I have piloted and I am pleased to announce it will continue on a regular basis.  This focuses on all aspects of womens health especially family planning and menopause management.

Dr Stephen Pedder-Smith
GP Partner

'I trained at Bart's and The Royal London and qualified in 2005. I had a varied career before becoming a GP in 2014 having initially trained in surgery.  I am interested in Urology, Cardiology, Minor surgery and Men's Health'.
Dr Neil Folwell
GP Partner

'I qualified in 2007 from Glasgow and completed by foundation training in Scotland.  I have been a partner at the Medical Centre since 2016'

Dr Joseph Klakus
GP Partner

'I qualified from The University of Nottingham in 2010 and completed my Foundation Years in and around the Nottingham and Lincolnshire area. I returned to Hull training scheme following this and worked in local hospitals.

Since my MRCGP I continued to work in Hull and undertook Locum works where I started my involvement with The Medical Centre and became a partner in October 2017.

My interests include work around Mental Health cases and services, Respiratory Medicine, Paediatrics, Medicolegal and Ethics work and Education. I will be a GP Trainer from August 2018 and oversee a GP Registrar in the Practice.

I have several Postgraduate qualifications to support the above and am currently studying in London for a Master Practitioners Qualification in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).

I hope that I am approachable, relaxed and put a sprinkle of humour into my consultations!'

Dr Daniella Maleknasr
Salaried GP

'I trained at Imperial College London Medical School and qualified as a doctor in 2010. I completed my foundation training in East Anglia before making my way up North to do my GP training in the Yorkshire and Humber deanery'.

Dr Helen Bedford

'I trained at Manchester University and qualified as a doctor in 2011. I completed my foundation training at the Lancashire Teaching Hospital Trust and my GP training in York'.

Caroline Slater
Advanced Nurse Practitioner

'I qualified as a General Nurse in 1994 at York District Hospital. I have always lived and worked locally at the Alfred Bean Hospital Minor Injuries Unit and GP Out of Hours Services.

I completed extended training (PG DIp Advanced Practice) from Leeds Beckett University in 2015. This has enabled me to provide more advanced patient care. In addition, I can refer patients for investigations and to other healthcare services, plus prescribe medications.

I have specialised skills and knowledge in differing health care services: some of these include sexual and womens health, acute medicine and heart failure'.

Linda Shipley
Nurse Prescriber and Nursing Team Manager

'I intially trained at East Riding Hospital Driffield as a Cadet Nurse and a State Enrolled Nurse (level 2) in 1977 then progressed to the conversion course for SEN's to gain RGN status level 1 at Hull University in 1996

Because of my love for the practice nurse role I then embarked on the Community Nursing Degree, a pathway to practice nursing at Hull University qualifying as a Practice Nurse Specialist in 2002.

My special interests are Minor Illness, Chronic Diseases, Sexual Health and Family Planning, I fit the contraceptive implant, I am a Nurse Prescriber and enjoy managing the Nursing team.

Practice Nursing Team

Our Practice Nurses Ruth, Helen and Georgie are trained in various different areas and have very different skills sets, for this reason nurse appointments are not available online.  Ruth specialises in Chronic Disease and can see and advise on conditions such as asthma, diabetes and heart disease.  Helen and Georgie run our 'Treatment Room' Clinics and can provide injections, wound care, ear syringing etc.

Management

Our Practice Manager is Elizabeth Dalton.  Liz is supported by Sarah Earl, Assistant Practice Manager.
Customer Service Team

We have a team of 10 trained Administrators who make up our Customer Service Team.  The team answer all incoming calls (averaging 2000 calls per week) and provide all services at Reception.

Our Administrators are trained to triage all appointments requests, this is practice policy to ensure that you are booked in with the correct clinician.

Personal Assistants

Each of the GP's and Caroline have a PA. The PA's are trained in all aspects of secretarial work but also have individual duties relevant to their own GP.
Dispensary

We are a dispensing practice with a dispensary service at both the Driffield and Wetwang surgeries.  All of our Dispensers are fully trained to handle and dispense medication.

We dispense medications to patients who live more than one mile from a pharmacy.
